…prosecutor not in possession of files, suspects a no-show
…relatives staged protest

The case of the three men charged with the murder of the Henry boys was postponed until February 16. Presiding  at the Blairmont  Magistrate’s Court Magistrate, Peter Hugh made,the decision earlier Tuesday morning when the case that was first heard in Georgetown was called in the West Coast Berbice court.

The magistrate made the decision in the absence of the defendants. He also made the decision after the police prosecutor  told the court that he was not in posession of the files. The Magistrate told the Court that the three men were being held in separate lock ups.  He said that the decision  of the court will be communicated to the accused persons. Thirty-four-year old Anil Seecharran called Dan Pole of DeEdward Village West Bank Berbice and 30-year-old vinod  Gopaul of Black Bush Polder Cotentyne  are charged jointly with the murders which occurred early September last in the back lands of Cotton Tree.
The third suspect Akash Singh 20  called Monkey of Zeelugt Squatting area East Bank Essequibo was charged separately.

Singh reportedly confessed to the murder and implicated the other two accused as accomplices.

The badly mutilated bodies of the two Henry boys- Isiah and Joel were discovered in a clump of bushes twenty fours after they did not return home from a trip to the backlands. Outside the Court house Tuesday relatives of the two boys continued to press their demands for justice. They  disputed claims by the police that the men charged were the perpretators.
