The New York Tri-State Chapter of the Bishops’ High School (BHS) Alumni Association is holding its third Student Conference at its alma mater in Georgetown, Guyana on October 13- 17, 2025. The four-day conference, which will be held at the school’s campus on Carmichael Street, is titled “Navigating Your Future – Beyond High School.” The event aims to provide students with a unique opportunity to be exposed to a variety of perspectives on career choices, higher education, and vocational opportunities. The conference will again host a virtual component, which allows for an even wider variety of presenters – including those who cannot travel to Georgetown. As before, students can participate in a Career Fair and four Sports Clinics. “This year we have invited a group of students from Christ Church Secondary School, our sister school,
to join our students in attending the Career Fair. Organizations will showcase their businesses, engage with students, and show the students what career opportunities might be available to them as they leave high school.” Chapter President Thomas said. On the last day of the conference, students will take part in a teambuilding event, that will highlight communication and other critical soft skills. Senior students will also participate in speed mentoring sessions where they will have a chance to learn more about specific career paths from the presenters. The conference will begin on Tuesday, 14th October with a Welcome Assembly and Student Registration. The highlights of Day 1 will be the Virtual sessions in the morning and the Career Fair in the afternoon. General sessions will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, with concurrent presentations and workshops daily featuring over 60 presenters representing a myriad of careers and change making opportunities that include topics in the following categories – Career Development and Employment Skills, STEM, Sports and Athletics, Business, Arts and Humanities, Personal Development and Life
Skills, Health and Medicine.
