Chinese vice premier, U.S. trade representative hold video call

CGTN – Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, who also serves as China’s lead person for China-U.S. economic and trade affairs, held a video call with U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer on Wednesday.

Focusing on implementing the important consensus reached by the two heads of state in their phone call on January 17 this year, the two sides engaged in candid and in-depth exchange on key economic and trade issues.

The Chinese side expressed serious concerns over the U.S. side’s policies, including tariffs imposed on China under the pretext of fentanyl, the Section 301 investigation, and its proposed “reciprocal” tariffs.

Both sides acknowledged the importance of maintaining stable China-U.S. economic and trade relations and agreed to continue communication on issues of mutual concern.
