The Guyana Police Force in a statement said Kawal Ramdeen called ‘Tanno’, a 42-year-old Contractor, was arrested at about 20:00 hrs on December 25th, 2024 and subsequently charged for:
-๐“๐ก๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐‹๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฎ๐š๐ ๐ž, Contrary to section 141 (a) of the Summary Jurisdiction (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:02, committed on Amanda Khan, a 29-year-old Supervisor from Non-Pariel, East Coast Demerara.
-๐ƒ๐ข๐ฌ๐œ๐ก๐š๐ซ๐ ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐‹๐จ๐š๐๐ž๐ ๐…๐ข๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ซ๐ฆ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐ˆ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ง๐ญ, Contrary to Section 55 (a) of the Criminal Law Offenses Act Chapter 8:01 committed on Amanda Khan
-๐Œ๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐œ๐ข๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฆ๐š๐ ๐ž ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ญ๐ฒ, Contrary to Section 160 of the Criminal Law Offences Act Chapter 8:01 committed on Amanda Khan
On Friday 27th December 2024, the accused appeared at the Vigilance Magistrate Court #1, before Senior Magistrate Sunil Scarce, where the charges were read to him. He pleaded not guilty to all three charges. Bail was granted in the sum of:
* $25,000 for Threatening Language
* $100,000 for Malicious Damage to Property
*$250,000 for Discharging a Loaded Firearm with intent.
The bail is conditional, with reporting conditions twice per month at the Vigilance Police Station; no contact with the victim; and instructions to lodge his passport with the court.
The matter was adjourned to 17th February 2025 for disclosure.
