In a testament to his hard work and dedication, young aspiring firefighter 11-year-old Ronaldo Winter achieved an impressive second place in the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) this year. This outstanding accomplishment not only highlights his academic excellence but also underscores his commitment to a future in firefighting. Ronaldo attended the Lichfield Primary (on the West Coast of Berbice).
He stated that his preparation for NGSA was simple and successful, prior to exams, he began to neglect his recreational devices and activity and focused more on his studies and practice questions.
“I would dedicate most of my time to studying and answering past papers. I am most thankful to God for his blessings on me. When the results were released, I was excited, however upon receiving the news of achieving second place at my school, I was very elated because I worked hard and it paid off,” an enthusiastic Winter told this publication.
“Put God first in everything, study hard and stay focused on your education. Yes you can play and have fun but you must learn how to manage your time in order to achieve your goals and aspirations,” is Ronaldo’s advice to young students.
Ronaldo’s life has been punctuated by challenges and difficulties, as he lost both his parents. His mom died in 2020 whilst his dad died a few years ago. His accomplishment is a testament to his determination and resilience.
He is a reminder of the incredible potential within each of us and also demonstrates that with hard work and perseverance, academic and personal goals can be realised. As he continues to pursue his goals, his story is a reminder of the potential within every student to achieve greatness and make a meaningful impact.
