…Ramesh Persaud to Chair NIS Board

Former Finance Minister Saisnarine Kowlessar has been appointed Chairman of the Guyana Revenue Authority’s (GRA) Board of Directors, a statement from the Ministry of Finance said Tuesday.

According to the Ministry, Kowlessar, who served as Finance Minister from 1999-2006 and also lectured at the University of Guyana, is joined by Dr. Gobind Ganga, Ms. Sonya Roopnauth, Sukrishnalall Pasha, Mr. Lennox Benjamin and Mr. Godfrey Statia (Ex-Officio).

Similarly, the Ministry announced the appointment of former Private Sector Commission (PSC) Chairman, Ramesh Persaud as new Chairman of the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) Board.

Persaud, who is currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Institute of Private Enterprise Development (IPED), also serves as a member of the Guyana Sugar Corporation (GUYSUCO) Board.

The other members of that Board who will be serving during this tenure are Ms. Holly Greaves (ExOfficio), Mr. Faizal Jaffarally, Ms. Yvonne Pearson, Mr. Maurice Solomon, Mr. Satanand Gopie, Ms. Kathleen Jason, Mr. Seepaul Narine and Ms. Jillian Burton-Persaud.
