(WiredJA)- Opposition Spokesperson on Justice Senator Donna Scott-Mottley  welcomed Justice Marva McDonald Bishop in her new role as the President of the Court of Appeal, while acknowledging the exceptional contributions of Justice Patrick Brooks.

In a statement the Senator Donna Scott-Mottley extended heartfelt congratulations to Justice Marva McDonald Bishop who was sworn in today, on her historic appointment as President of the Court of Appeal. Justice McDonald Bishop is the first woman to hold this esteemed position, marking a significant milestone in Jamaica’s judicial history.

His leadership as President of the Court of Appeal has further strengthened the institution and enhanced public confidence in our judicial system. We wish Justice Brooks all the best in his well-deserved retirement and thank him for his invaluable service to our nation.
