Teen boys charged with rape of Bartica girl

Two teenage boys were on Tuesday charged with the rape of a 7-year-old girl when they appeared before Magistrate Esther Sam at the Bartica Magistrates’ Court.

The boys, aged 15 and 18, both of Bartica were remanded to the Juvenile Detention Centre and the Lusignan Prison respectively until December 31, 2020.

According to Police, on December 4, 2020 at about 03:00h, the victim was discovered missing from her bedroom by her mother. A search was conducted in the area and its surroundings and the child was found naked with what appears to be marks of violence about her body. She was taken to the Bartica Public Hospital.
