BITCOIN, its History, Current Uses and Future

Bitcoin (BTC) is a decentralized digital currency that allows for peer-to-peer transactions without the need for intermediaries like banks. It was created in 2009 by an anonymous individual or group using the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto.

History of Bitcoin:

– January 2009: Bitcoin’s white paper was published, outlining the concept and design of cryptocurrency.

– January 2009: The first block of the Bitcoin blockchain, known as the Genesis Block, was mined.

– 2010: The first real-world transaction took place, with 10,000 BTC used to buy two pizzas.

– 2011: Bitcoin’s value surpassed $1 for the first time.

– 2017: Bitcoin’s price reached an all-time high of nearly $20,000.

– 2020: Bitcoin’s market capitalization exceeded $1 trillion.

Current Position:

– Market capitalization: Over $400 billion

– Price: Around $20,000 – $30,000 per coin (fluctuates constantly)

– Adoption: Increasingly accepted as payment by merchants and institutions

– Regulatory environment: Evolving, with some countries embracing it and others imposing restrictions

Future Uses:

– Widespread adoption as a payment method

– Store of value and hedge against inflation

– Smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps)

– Cross-border transactions and remittances

– Central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) and integration with traditional finance

– Potential for increased use in e-commerce, micropayments, and the Internet of Things (IoT)

Challenges and Limitations:

– Volatility and price fluctuations

– Scalability and transaction speed issues

– Regulatory uncertainty and potential crackdowns

– Security concerns and risk of hacking

– Environmental impact of mining operations

Overall, Bitcoin has come a long way since its inception and continues to evolve, with potential for increased adoption and innovation in the future.

REPUBLICAN USA Presidential Candidate Donald Trump’s Stance on Bitcoin:

– Trump has expressed skepticism and criticism towards Bitcoin, calling it “a highly volatile and based-on-thin-air currency” in 2021.

– In 2019, he tweeted that he is “not a fan” of Bitcoin, citing concerns about its potential use in illegal activities.

– However, some of his advisors and allies, like Mike Novogratz and Anthony Scaramucci, are pro-Bitcoin and have invested in it.

DEMOCRATIC USA Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris’ Stance on Bitcoin:

– Harris has not taken a clear stance on Bitcoin, but her campaign accepted Bitcoin donations in 2019.

– As a senator, she has expressed concerns about cryptocurrency’s potential use in criminal activities and called for stricter regulations.

– Her running mate, Joe Biden, has also not taken a clear stance, but his administration has been exploring the development of a digital dollar.

Other US Politicians’ Stances on Bitcoin:

– Pro-Bitcoin:

– Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY)

– Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA)

– Representative Tom Emmer (R-MN)

– Anti-Bitcoin:

– Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA)

– Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH)

– Undecided/Neutral:

– Most politicians, including many presidential candidates, have not taken a clear stance on Bitcoin.

Keep in mind that politicians’ views can change, and their stance on Bitcoin might evolve as the cryptocurrency landscape continues to develop.

UAE/DUBAI Warning to Travelers with Currencies, Gold, and Diamonds

July 24, 2024. GULF NEWS. “ UAE travelers WARNED against NON-DISCLOSURE of  EXCESS CASH, and VALUABLES.  Declaration modalities, permissible limit for carrying money, other items explained.

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) has issued a warning to travelers passing through the country against the non-disclosure of “currencies, precious metals and precious stones” of sizeable value through any point of entry in the UAE.

The department said in its warning bulletins on its website that failure of travelers arriving in or departing from the Emirates through airports or ports to disclose money, precious metals, and precious stones whose value exceeds UAE Dirham 60,000: ( USD $16,335:) is a punishable crime.
