The Pet Rich List is like the Forbes 400 but for the world’s wealthiest pets, and it’s where we’ve learned such shocking news like the fact that Taylor Swift’s cat, Olivia Benson, is worth US$97 million, or that Betty White’s Golden Retriever, Pontiac, inherited US$5 million dollars after White’s passing in 2021.

Oprah Winfrey’s dogs are set to inherit a cumulative US$30 million dollars if their entrepreneurial owner passes.

According to Forbes, Winfrey’s net worth is estimated to be US$2.5 billion. And since the media mogul never had any children, she obviously wants to make sure her pups are taken care of in case she passes.

It was first reported that the OWN founder had set up a trust fund for her dogs back in 2007. A source told the Australian Magazine Woman’s Day that “[Oprah] has set up a trust fund to care for her ‘babies’ when she dies.” They added, “Oprah has a menagerie of animals and she wants them to be pampered for the rest of their lives if she were to die first…so she rewrote her will to include millions for their care. Oprah’s a billionaire, so $30m is not a lot of money if you look at her entire net worth.”

While the Pet Rich List mentions 5 pups who will inherit the money from Winfrey, it is stated on Oprah Daily that the self-made businesswoman is currently only a mother to her two springer spaniels (Sunny and Lauren) and one cocker spaniel (Sadie).
