A Police Officer planting a tree. On your knee. In your uniform. Using your hand to throw dirt to cover the roots just for an (inappropriate) photo-opportunity.

“Be informed that Friday 18th of November 2022, between 10:15 hrs and 11:30 hrs, a ‘Tree Planting Exercise ‘ was held in Region No. 2 along the Essequibo Coast public road in the vicinity of Capoey.

“The initiative was coordinated by the ‘Tourism sector’ in collaboration with the Regional Democratic Council (RDC), the Region’s local tourism body, the Guyana Police Force (GPF) Regional Police Division No. 2, and other stakeholders.

“A simple ceremony was held to observe Tourism Awareness month which was followed by the planting of several plants on the roadside to beautify the village of Capoey. It is expected that more such projects will be coordinated within the region.

“In attendance were Regional Chairwoman Ms. Vilma Da Silva, and Regional Police Commander (RPC) Superintendent K. Shivbaran among others.” (Police Release)
