Dear Editor
On Thursday January 28, 2021, the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GTT), commemorated its 30th anniversary of providing telecommunication services to the people of Guyana, keeping us connected to each other and the world.

While reflecting on the integral role GTT has played in supporting the evolution of the country, GTT PR Manager, Jasmin Harris acknowledged the company’s three decades of expanded service and investment in the national telecommunication infrastructure, the generations of Guyanese served and the multitude of GTT employees who have been part of the company’s journey.

“This is a celebration of the pride of being a born and bred Guyanese entity, and the nostalgia of having grown and achieved together over the years. Significantly also, it is a celebration that envisages a brighter future for Guyanese, through advanced technology, enhanced services and continued investment, managed by a team committed to continuous learning and the pursuit of complete customer satisfaction,” Harris said.

The 30th anniversary milestone is being marked just a few months after the full liberalisation of the local telecoms sector, and also comes ahead of imminent internet service upgrades from GTT. Harris shared that the GTT team is excited about the future, and would continue to give the highest priority to meeting and exceeding the demands of customers.

“We acknowledge that service to our customers is of paramount importance. We have been here for the Guyanese people through the years, and service improvements will continue to propel us into the future.  Our recently launched ‘Together we Rise” brand campaign is a clear demonstration of our collective and nationalistic focus; we are part of the fabric of this land,” Harris stated.

As GTT’s 30th celebrations continue, there would be tangible rewards, and special offers for customers, including double credit and other surprise offers that the company hopes would result in customer delight.

Regards
Jasmin Harris
