Carol Smith, a member of the PNCR, has issued an apology to Tamica Garnett for her outburst during a phone call. Smith acknowledged that her behavior was inappropriate and expressed respect for all women, including Garnett.
However, it is worth noting that the authors behind the “Live In Guyana” Facebook page, which is alleged to be the propaganda arm of the PPP party, have yet to apologize to the Kaiteur News reporter or the Press Association president. These individuals were subjected to vilification and slander due to their work, which the authors deemed unfavorable to the PPP party.
This situation highlights the need for professionalism and civility in all interactions, regardless of personal opinions or political affiliations. It is unacceptable to engage in character assassination and personal attacks against individuals who are simply doing their jobs.
While it is commendable that Carol Smith took responsibility for her actions and apologized, it is disappointing that the authors behind “Live In Guyana” have not followed suit. Hopefully, they will recognize the harm caused by their words and take steps to make amends with those they have wronged.
