2.     The Ministry of Education will be tasked to pay special emphasis on their education, including at the tertiary level.

3.     In the coming year, the Government will be working on many new programmes to further enhance and enrich their lives, giving them more opportunities at an individual level, while bolstering support through new programmes at the different homes.

4.     Children in the homes who have special talents will be given opportunities

The president told participants, “So, my dear children, I want you to know that we love you a lot; your country loves you. You are part of the one Guyana family.”

The Constitution of Guyana protects children from want and needs, the right to life, free education from nursery to university, among other benefits and involvement in Guyana’s development and being the beneficiary of Guyana’s resources.
