Enquiries revealed that motorcar # PVV 3684 was proceeding east on Homestretch Avenue while motorcar # PNN 5516 was proceeding west on the said road. It is alleged by Taishan Shanks, driver of motorcar # PVV 3684 as he was in the vicinity of Help and Shelter, he saw motorcar # PNN 5515 swerved from the southern side of the road from behind a motor vehicle and ended up into his path. As a result both vehicles collided causing the drivers and occupants of both vehicles to receive injuries.

Mitchel and the seven-year-old occupant were picked up in an unconscious state by Emergency Medical Technicians and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where they were seen by doctors

Mitchell was subsequently  pronounced dead about 22:00hrs while the seven-year-old was treated for a broken right leg and later admitted a patient, his condition is regarded as stable.

The driver and occupant of motorcar # PVV 3684 were also taken to the said institution where they were treated for lacerations about the body and later discharged.
Investigations are ongoing.
