Sleep-Inn owner, other arrested during Covid crackdown

Ranks from the National Covid Task Force, Guyana Defense Force and the Guyana Police Force on Friday night conducted an Operation in Regional Division 4A during which several persons were detained for breaching the curfew.

Among the places raided were: Sleep-In Bar & Casino on Church Street. Owner of the business place,  Clifton Bacchus and two bartenders were arrested as well as Chinese nationals who were at the casino.

Across at Club Altitude Sandy Babb St Kitty, Georgetown, Proprietor Meer Rahaman and 18 patrons were arrested. At Kairos Bar Charlotte street Bourda, Georgetown, Manager Mark Alleyen  was nabbed. At Club Privilege Main St Georgetown the Bartender Delon Moffett and his assistant Akeem Carmichael were arrested.  They were all placed on cash bail pending court. There was no incident, police said in a release.
