Enquiries disclosed that motor car was proceeding north on the western side of Sir David Rose Avenue Public Road and Drakes was proceeding in the opposite direction on hi bike at an allegedly fast rate of speed. Police said while negotiating a left bend Drakes lost control of his motorcycle and collided with the right side front of motor car and fell on  the road surface where he received injuries about his body. He was picked up by public-spirited citizens in an unconscious state and taken to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was seen and examined by a doctor on duty and succumbed while receiving medical attention.

The vehicles were lodged and the driver of motor car is presently in custody assisting with the  investigation.
