Eye Lash Backdam miner robbed of pistol, ammunition

A 28-year-old miner of Zeelust Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo was on Saturday robbed by armed bandits of a Taurus .32 Pistol (semi-automatic) with one magazine and seven live matching rounds of ammunition.

The miner has been identified as Hanson Forde. According to reports, at about 05:40h at Eye Lash Backdam, North West District (Region One), two unidentifiable men armed with a shotgun relieved Hanson of the pistol and ammunition.
Police are investigating the matter.
