Relatives of a retired Agricultural Officer from the village of Kamarang in Region Seven are mourning his loss after his body floated up in the nearby river on Sunday, days after he left his home for a neighbouring village in a small boat.

Reports are that Elford Williams was celebrating his son’s recent achievement in the military. The elderly man was seen consuming alcohol on Thursday.

He never arrived at Waramadong, however, on Friday morning his boat was seen floating along the river.A search commenced for Williams, however, efforts proved futile.

His remains were found close to Kamarang on Sunday and relatives were preparing to bury the man’s body.
