Rockliffe Christie

Proprietor and Founder of the Little Rock Television and Radio Stations (LRTVS) Rockcliffe Christie died on Wednesday at his Vryman’s Erven New Amsterdam, East Berbice- Corentyne home.

Christie, 89, an engineer by profession was also the proprietor of Little Rock Suites in New Amsterdam.

The businessman who was the second child for his parents, Joseph and Eglantine Christie, studied overseas to become an engineer. He also read for a Diploma in Architectural Draftsmanship and Building Designs.

Upon his return to Guyana, Christie was offered a job at the then Ministry of Works and Hydraulics.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Christie, and five children, Collette Sandiford, Rockcliff Christie Jr., Ivelaw Christie, Naomi Christie and Doret Sinclair.
