Hendrax’s wife, Seema Nath, told Village Voice Guyana that Sukhara is a “trouble-maker”.
She said that on Monday, she and her husband were driving through Third Street, Williamsburg Squatting area, Region Six when Sukhara’s friend reportedly rode into the pathway of Hendrax, quickly swerving before a collision.

Hendrax, stopped his vehicle, and yelled angrily at the man for riding dangerously.
“After the boy swerve, Dele stop and ask him what really happen that how he can do something like that. He get upset because if we had hit him down we would have been wrong. Dele ask he if he want put people in trouble just like that…when we turn in we yard, the boy turn back with his bicycle and start cussing Dele and calling him all kinda names even though he was wrong for doing that,” Nath told Village Voice Guyana.

Nath and her husband thought that the matter had ended Monday night but on Tuesday night, the man [Who rode the bicycle] accompanied by Sukhara and others continued the quarrel.

“The night when I come, I stand up on the veranda and same time Dele come in, so as soon as he open the gate and come in the yard the big man over there [Sukhara] start cussing him nasty and calling him [names] and then couple minutes after the man [Sukhara] wife see me and start cussing me too. So I go out and tell them to stop cussing because nobody aint do them nothing. I come back in the yard and they still deh on it. Then after he [Sukhara] son them calling me outside to fight; I know better and I seh I gon do better, so I stay inside. Then after he [Hendax] borrow my phone to call Tasha but lil long after he see a car coming through the street so he go out to see if is Tasha but was somebody else,” an eyewitness who requested anonymity told Village Voice Guyana.

The eyewitness recalled that it was after Hendrax stepped out of his yard to look for his wife, about five men, including Sukhara armed themselves with wood, cutlass and other objects and ran towards Hendrax.

The eyewitness said that to avoid a confrontation, Hendrax re-entered his yard but this did not stop the men who ventured there. Their entry to Henrax’s yard led to a scuffle. By this time, a driving passing Hendrax’s house observed what was transpiring. It was the driver’s shouts that saved Hendrax from a beating. As a result, all the men but Sukhara fled Hendrax’s yard and according to the eyewitness, Hendrax in an attempt to defend himself, picked up a cutlass that was nearby and chopped Sukhara. Sukhara received injuries to his left arm and is a patient of the New Amsterdam Hospital.

Meanwhile, Hendrax’s wife told Village Voice Guyana that she was on her way home when she said “a set of boys running out from my yard”.

“When I stop, I see my husband and Sukhara in front the yard but Sukhara couldn’t run fast because he was a bit drunk. I came home with a bus and my children were with me,” the woman recounted. Nath said that Sukhara and his wife would constantly hurl expletive remarks at Hendrax.

Meanwhile, when Village Voice Guyana visited the Hendrax home, neighbours who were there said that in the past, they all had aggressive encounters with Sukhara and his wife whom they referred to as “fighting people”.

“You see them people this is the only set of people through this street that get problem with everybody. They cussing everybody one by one. Them is people that does make you want go to court for them because they always cussing”, one neighbor told Village Voice Guyana.

Hendrax’s family is calling on the Guyana Police Force (GPF) to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
