GEA intercepts 16,000 gallons of smuggled fuel at Parika

The Guyana Energy Agency (GEA) last week intercepted two vessels at Parika with some 16,000 gallons of smuggled fuel.

One of the vessel captained by a fifty-six year old of Metem-Meer-Zorg West Coast Demerara man, while the other was captained by a 44-year -old of Greenwich Park. East Bank Essequibo.

At the time of the search and seizure vessel one of the vessels had a three- man crew comprising of a 55-year old of Good Success Wakenaam, a 54-year old of Orenstain E.B.E and a 20 year old of Metem-Meer-Zorg W.C.D.

The five persons are presently in custody assisting with the investigation.
