Taxi driver, passenger injured after car topples into trench

A Corentyne taxi driver along with a passenger is now injured following an accident on the Tain Public Road early Saturday morning.
Twenty- five- year -old Joel Aberdeen the driver of hire car bearing registration number HC 8821 said he was proceeding east along the public road when another vehicle was proceeding South from a cross street onto the public road collided with his left side rear.
As a result, he lost control of the vehicle and toppled into a nearby trench. Aberdeen, along with the passenger was assisted out of the vehicle by public- spirited persons.
The passenger whose name is still unknown suffered injuries to the head and about the body. Meanwhile, the driver said  he received injuries to his head, arm and legs. While the passenger was rushed to the Port Mourant Hospital for treatment, Aberdeen who was still in a state of shock chose to stay at the scene until his vehicle was pulled from the trench.
Aberdeen related  he had moments before picked up the passenger and was heading further up the Corentyne when the iaccident occurred.
He was hoping for a successful day at work; but is thankful that he was not seriously injured.
Police are currently investigating the accident.
